CUSTOM WATCHES

Scott Wilk designs and builds his own, original and unique brand of wristwatches.
Some of the components are designed and made here in Toronto - specifically all the dials and some hands.
Other components have been designed here, but manufactured by suppliers to specification in other countries - these include watch cases, crowns and straps.
Precision-made movements are purchased from suppliers in Switzerland and China.

Scott is very careful to avoid plagiarism and he is pedantic about respecting copyright and trademarks.
Scott emphasises “I am scrupulous regarding originality: I avoid compromising my designs by staying well away from the intellectual property of others.”

At Wilk Watchworks, in addition to the styles of wristwatch you can see on this web site, and at the various shows, there are limited work slots available during the year for Scott to design and build customer-requested custom wristwatches.

The approach we take constitutes a complete process, from design to finished product, and includes the creation of a blueprint from the dialogue we have with you by e-mail, where you communicate your desires and preferences.

Once the specifications have been defined, it is up to Scott to come up with a design, one which he has conceived, incorporating your preferences.
Please bear in mind that in the design, it is imperative that Scott ensures the soundness of the engineering, the aesthetics of the timepiece and the practicability and usability of the finished product.

The prerogative to go ahead with a custom wristwatch project is entirely up to Scott.

Custom wristwatches can be made for corporate purposes, as retirement gifts for example, and for the private collector.

Here is another example of a custom wristwatch project, this time for Mason Plumlee, formerly of the Duke University Blue Devils basketball team, in which the Blue Devils’ logo forms the dial for each custom watch.
“I want to say thanks to Mason for coming to me with this fantastic project” – Scott Wilk.

The Maki Project

This watch was originally a custom project that Scott undertook for a special customer, Mr. Maki, after whom this style is named.

Custom Celtic Knot Skeleton Tourbillon. For this watch I’ve used a special heat treatment on the fine silver dial to create that pearly white finish.

Finished up 3 special watches to celebrate @dukeblueplanet's victory this past season. Watch is a combination of my Daedalian skeleton design with the Duke basketball logo. Thanks to Duke Basketball for the opportunity to make these commemorative timepieces. I still need your help understanding what everyone would like to see in my next limited edition watch. To this end, I've created a short 6 question multiple choice survey that will help guide me, but I need your input! Here is the link for the survey, would really appreciate your help! Link in my profile also! http://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZCLDTGC
